I seek to be a creator of transformation not just a maker of things. By leveraging design’s ability to inform, persuade, support and advocate I create work that empowers individuals, connects people and engages communities. My current work examines activism and awareness through several conceptual frameworks including the semiotic relationship of language and symbolism. By subverting accepted visual language and intervening in public spaces I lend authority and legitimacy to my unofficial message as it disrupts official discourse. Further projects explore representation, influence and meaning in respect to time and space. By creating a situational space with an emotionally charged message I hope to foster dialogue, raise consciousness and evoke action that leads to lasting change.
